E-commerce & Marketplace App Development

I build the stores that a template cannot handle: a resale marketplace where every pair of sneakers is verified before it ships, a fashion shop where customers customise a design and get measured with their phone, a scan-and-pay app that removes the checkout line, and a B2B ordering app for a wholesaler with a 6,000-item catalogue. If a standard Shopify store fits your business, I will tell you to use one.

How it works

  1. 1. Let’s talk · 1–2 days

A free call or a WhatsApp chat. I ask what you’re actually trying to do, not what you think you should ask for. You get the price and plan in writing.

  2. 2. Let’s think · 1–3 weeks

What should exist first? What can wait? I make a clickable Figma version you can try before any code, and I’ll tell you if something isn’t worth building yet.

  3. 3. Let’s build · 2–12 weeks

I build it in small pieces. You get a live link from the first week, so you see real progress instead of a big reveal at the end.

  4. 4. Let’s launch · About 1 week

Testing, app store submission, going live, and making sure Google can read it.

  5. 5. Let’s grow · If you want

Fixes, new features and search work. This is the part most people stop doing once the invoice is paid.

FAQ

Should I use Shopify or build a custom store?+

Start with Shopify if you sell your own products at fixed prices and need to be live this month. It is cheaper and it is good. Custom starts to make sense when the thing that makes your business different does not fit a theme: buyers and sellers on one platform, an authentication or inspection step before an item ships, products built to each customer, wholesale ordering for trade customers, or a shopping app people use in a physical store. That is the work I take on. I have written up how to decide in more detail.

Can you build a marketplace with multiple sellers?+

Yes. Ouro is a two-sided sneaker resale marketplace where sellers list, every pair is verified at a warehouse, and buyers pay with Stripe or Apple Pay. A marketplace is really three products, the buyer side, the seller side and the admin that sits between them, so plan for all three from the start. More in how to build a resale marketplace app.

Do I need an app, a website, or both?+

Most stores should start with a fast website, because that is where search traffic and first-time buyers arrive. An app earns its place when customers buy from you repeatedly, or when the phone is part of the product, like scanning items in a store or taking body measurements. I have written about the same decision for fintech products, and the reasoning carries over.

How long does a custom store take to build?+

A web store with products, payments, delivery and discount codes is usually five to eight weeks. Shopping apps and marketplaces take longer, usually three months or more, because buyers, sellers and staff each need their own accounts and screens.
