How Much Does a Website Cost for a Small Business in Ahmedabad? (2026 Guide)
Honest website price ranges in rupees for cafes, shops and small businesses in Ahmedabad — what changes the price, hidden costs, and how to avoid overpaying.

Ask five people in Ahmedabad what a website costs and you'll get five answers — from "₹3,000, my cousin makes them" to "₹5 lakh from an agency." Both can be right. They're just not building the same thing.
Here's an honest breakdown so you know what you're paying for, what you actually need, and where the hidden costs are.
The short answer
These are the ranges I use for projects in 2026, and they're the same numbers behind the cost estimator on this site:
| What you need | Typical range | Time |
|---|---|---|
| One page to send people to (menu, location, WhatsApp) | about ₹7,000 – ₹10,000 | 1–2 weeks |
| A website that explains what you do (5–8 pages) | about ₹20,000 – ₹29,000 | 2–4 weeks |
| A website you can update yourself | about ₹34,000 – ₹48,000 | 4–6 weeks |
| A shop that takes orders online | about ₹55,000 – ₹78,000 | 5–8 weeks |
Building on WordPress usually brings the price down; a fully custom design costs more. Logins, customer accounts and staff dashboards add the most.
These are starting points for typical answers, not fixed quotes — your exact price depends on what you pick.
What changes the price
1. Number of pages and sections
A cafe needs Home, Menu, About, Gallery, Contact. A clinic may need a page for every treatment. More pages means more design, content and testing.
2. Who writes the words and takes the photos
If you already have your text, logo and good photos, the price drops. If you need design, writing or a photoshoot, that's extra work — and usually worth it, because words and photos sell more than code does.
3. Whether you can edit it yourself
A site you update yourself (new menu, prices, offers) needs a content management system. It costs a little more upfront but saves you paying a developer for every small change.
4. Online orders, bookings or payments
Taking orders with UPI or card payments, managing delivery areas and sending order notifications is real functionality, not just pages.
5. Logins
The moment customers or staff need accounts — loyalty points, order history, an admin panel — the cost jumps. It's the most common thing people forget to mention.
Costs people forget
- Domain name: yearly renewal for your .com or .in.
- Hosting: from cheap shared hosting to faster cloud hosting — pay for reliability, a slow site loses customers.
- Business email:
name@yourcafe.comlooks far more professional than a Gmail address. - Maintenance: updates, backups and security, especially for WordPress sites.
- Payment gateway fees: a small percentage on online payments.
- Content changes after launch: agree upfront what's included.
Always ask for these to be listed in the quote.
Where cheap websites cost more
A very cheap website can be fine for a simple page. But be careful when:
- The domain and hosting are registered in the developer's name, not yours.
- It's a copied template that loads slowly on mobile data.
- There's no way to edit it without calling someone.
- It isn't set up for Google (no titles, descriptions or Google Business Profile link).
- The developer disappears after payment.
Fixing or rebuilding a bad site often costs more than doing it properly once.
How to not overpay
- Start small. A good one-page site with a WhatsApp button beats a ten-page site nobody finishes.
- Prepare your content — menu, prices, photos, your story.
- Ask for a fixed quote with pages, features and what's excluded written down.
- Make sure you own everything — domain, hosting, code and logins in your name.
- Pay by milestones, not everything upfront.
- Ask about support after launch before you sign.
Does a small business in Ahmedabad even need one?
If customers search for what you sell on Google, if you take orders or bookings, or if you want customers you own instead of renting them from Instagram and delivery apps — yes. I wrote more about this in Instagram or a website?.
